Vorig jaar en begin dit jaar begon wat rommelig met vertrekkende leidsters en nieuwe medewerkers. Maar nu hebben ze het goed op orde.
I had an extremely disappointing experience. The staff neither has the skills nor the interest in caring for the children. To elaborate on the context of the shortcomings of the staff as I explained to Esther, the location manager: * on the 26th Feb it was the second day of the adaptation week of our 3 months old. We were asked if we could pick him up before 12:00 since they were short on staff. Note that this week was the adaptation week and they told us how many hours our baby could be there. We had work commitments and we could not pick him up earlier. This could have been arranged if they had told us since we had been there the day before. He stayed 09:30 - 13:00 and they explained he was difficult to get to sleep. His eyes were red because he'd been crying for long.He spent the rest of the day sleeping of sheer exhaustion and with a lot of gas. * He returned on the 28th Feb at 09:30. They called us twice within a half an hour suggesting we pick him up already. Again, we had work commitments and found this lack of capability from the staff disappointing. As trained and experienced professionals I would have expected them to be able to care for him. When we picked him up, his eyes were red with tears. Again, he came home and spent the rest of the day and the better part of the next exhausted and with gas. * He attended 4th, 7th, 11th,14th March. I did not see the initial caretaker since the 4th, when she also called me to bring another pacifier because they had lost his. This goes to show the lack of organization and care of the staff. From the 7th on, I was greeted by 3 different unknown staff members who were quick to get him out of sight as they gave me back my child with a face full of tears and dried milk they hadn't wiped * Especially strikingly disappointing was my Monday 17th interaction with one who was not able to answer when my baby had been fed nor changed and did not seem to care at all. He was again full of tears and exhausted * The last day I returned to retrieve the bottle and pacifier and it took them a good 10 minutes to find all the parts of the bottle. She was unable to return the lid. I therefore cannot travel with this bottle any longer. The bottle has a part to prevent colics and I clearly indicated to please utilize it. Given the parts were separated when they were returned to me and how gassy he has been every day he has come back from Partou, this leads me to believe that basic things like alleviating his gas to get to sleep are not being done and rather he is being left alone to cry himself to sleep. At the time of starting with Partou he was 12 weeks old and unable to self soothe to sleep, as this is a developmental milestone of week 15 and onwards. I'm shocked that the staff, who claim to be trained and experienced professionals in the field, are unaware of such important milestones and expect him to fall asleep without help. This has resulted in him being exhausted the rest of the day and the better part of the next day leading to him being irritable.
