We are grateful to the amazing teachers of the Strawberries group (thank you Marta, Rita, Paola), the whole staff working at the Maples location (including Carla, Sumi, and Thanos), and especially to the amazing location manager Tina for the exceptional care and compassion they showed our son. Even now, after he no longer attends the daycare, the staff still ask about him and how he’s doing. That simple act shows how much they truly care—not just about the children while they’re enrolled, but as individuals they’ve built meaningful bonds with. A very special thanks goes to you Tina! You are an example of how those working with children should care and act!!! You have wonderful attitude and your continuous support of our little one shows your dedication to your profession! Thank you!
I used to work for Maples few years ago. And to say that it is one of the worst working environments I have ever worked would not be enough. Please don’t be misled by the marketing. The level of care your children receive here is not noticeably better than what you’d find at a more affordable Dutch daycare. In my experience I felt that kids were constantly stressed. From coming in the morning, to circle time, to rushing to do activities just for the sake of taking some fotos so “parents can be happy” and for the sake of filling the curriculum. I wonder all you parents who receive a very detailed review from the iPad app with what your child ate or did all day don’t you ever wonder who is looking after the children when somebody is doing all that work on the iPad? It felt like they care more about how they seem to parents that everything should seem “perfect” than really being present in the room. Also, i felt that the work environment was very stressful and, at times, very hostile. I often felt unsupported and criticised in ways that felt personal rather than professional. I would personally go for a chill Dutch daycare for my children rather than something similar to Zein. PS: just a clarification. There was a period where The Maples had a terrible manager, who was eventually fired after multiple complaints were made against her by the staff. We all thought the work environment would finally improve but the toxicity continued even under the new manager. I am still in contact with a lot of girls that worked or are still working at Zein and they are so traumatised from their experience working there. It’s so unfair that companies like this profit off the hard work of their employees.
